Information about Exciting Night

Honeymoon is supposed to be an exciting period for newly-weds, but for a significant number of them, the very first night turns out to be a nightmare.

A recent sub-national study on physical and sexual violence among married youth showed that 18-30% of the women were subjected to physical violence and 10-54% reported sexual violence. While 49% of young women from the eastern and northern states in India were subjected to forced sex on the wedding night, up to 23% women in the western and southern states went through the ordeal.

The study was carried out by the International Institute for Population Sciences in Mumbai and Population Council in Delhi over a period of two years across six states -- Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. It showed that at least 30% of the 13,912 young married women in the 14-24 years age-group faced physical violence once in their lifetime.

Rajasthan recorded the lowest prevalence of violence. About 27% of the 1,947 women interviewed from Maharashtra faced physical violence in marriage. 'Abusive husbands' of Maharashtra shared the second spot with Jharkhand and Tamil Naidu only after Bihar, as per the study. About 23% of the same women claimed they were victims of recent physical violence.

The study, however, showed that women in Maharashtra reported highest incidence of first violence (14%) within the very first year of marriage as compared to an average 9-7% in other states.

About 23% women from Maharashtra reported forced sex by husbands on the first night whereas corresponding men reported as low as 4%.

"It is surprising that violence was reported even among urban educated couples," said SJ Jejeebhoy, senior associate, population council.

"As against the popular belief, neither marriage nor pregnancy is a protective factor for women in India," said Dr Balaiah Donta, deputy director, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (NIRRH).

Some hours later, Veena awoke and nudged his faithful friend awake "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see." Venkat Arunreplied, "I see millions and millions of stars." "What does that tell you?" Veena questioned. Venkat Arun pondered for a minute. "Astronomically, it tells me that here are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Chronologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful an that we are small and insignificant. Metro logically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you?" I Love Mathematics

Mathematics the most fascinating subject is now lacking its interest amidst students. The child who may not be doing as well in mathematics as in other subject areas is consoled by his parents by being told that they, too, were not too good in mathematics in their school days. This negative role model can have a most deleterious effect on a youngster’s motivation toward mathematics. It is, therefore, your responsibility to counterbalance these mathematics slurs that seem to come from all directions. Those who use mathematics are fine with it, but those who do not generally find it an area of study that may have caused them hardship. We must finally demonstrate the inherent beauty of mathematics, so that those students who do not have a daily need for it can be led to appreciate it for its beauty and not only for its usefulness.

I Love my Mom

God cannot take care of each and everybody in this earth, so he created himself in the form of mother. A mother is self less and starts caring for from the moment we are born. She gives her small child milk when he feels hungry.Mother is everything for us and she takes care of us when we are small and guides us when we grow up. Our entire life revolves around her. To rub our wounds we run to her. For a warm hug and caring love we look for her. She is the greatest human being in the world. In other words we need mother for everything in our life. We just need to reciprocate the love she showers on us.A mother is truly an embodiment of love.may 11th of every year is celebrated as Mother's day in many of the countries around the world. She just lives to see us happy throughout our life.Thank you mother for the care and love you have shown on me.!!

Please Quit Smoking

When you do that over sustained period, say two years, even people with heart disease have recorded a 0.03-mm drop in valve block. A 5-foot-10-inch man can reduce such a block by 0.03mm a year by losing 7 pounds of body fat. If you smoke five cigarettes a day, stop that and you will reduce the same amount of block.

A Wood Cutter Story

One day a woodcutter took his grandson into the forest for his first experience in selecting and cutting oak trees. These they would later sell to the boat builders. As they walked along, the woodcutter explained that the purpose of each tree is contained in its natural shape: some are straight for planks, some have the proper curves for the ribs of a boat, and some are tall for masts. The woodcutter told his grandson that by paying attention to the details of each tree, and with experience in recognizing these characteristics, someday he too might become the woodcutter of the forest. A little way into the forest, the grandson saw an old oak tree that had never been cut. The boy asked his grandfather if he could cut it down because it was useless for boat building - there were no straight limbs, the trunk was, short and gnarled, and the curves were going the wrong way. "We could cut it down for firewood," the grandson said. "At least then it will be of some use to us." The woodcutter replied that for now they should be about their work cutting the proper trees for the boat builders; maybe later they could return to the old oak tree. After a few hours of cutting the huge trees, the grandson grew tired and asked if they could stop for a rest in some cool shade. The woodcutter took his grandson over to the old oak tree, where they rested against its trunk in the cool shade beneath its twisted limbs. After they had rested a while, the woodcutter explained to his grandson the necessity of attentive awareness and recognition of everything in the forest and in the world. Some things are readily apparent, like the tall, straight trees; other things are less apparent, requiring closer attention, like recognition of the proper curves in the limbs. And some things might initially appear to have no purpose at all, like the gnarled old oak tree. The woodcutter stated, "You must learn to pay careful attention every day so you can recognize and discover the purpose God has for everything in creation. For it is this old oak tree, which you so quickly deemed useless except for firewood, that now allows us to rest against its trunk amidst the coolness of its shade.

"Remember, grandson, not everything is as it first appears. Be patient, pay attention, recognize, and discover."

The Wings of Burden

An old legend relates that long ago God had a great many burdens which He wished to have carried from one place to another on earth, so He asked the animals to lend a hand. But all of them began to make excuses for not helping: the elephant was too dignified; the lion, too proud; and so on. Finally the birds came to God and said, "If you will tie the burdens into small bundles, we'll be glad to carry them for you. We are small but we would like to help."

So God fastened upon the back of each one a small bundle, and they all set out walking across the plain to their destination. They sang as they went, and did not seem to feel the weight of their burdens at all. Every day the burdens seemed lighter and lighter, until the loads seems to be lifting the birds, instead of the birds carrying the burdens.

When they arrived at their destination, they discovered that when they removed their loads, there were wings in their place, wings which enabled them to fly to the sky and the tree tops.

They had learned how to carry their burdens, and their loads had become wings to carry them nearer to God.

Burdens we carry for others may become wings of the spirit, to lift us into happiness such as we have never known

Create Mindset

As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

"Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free." My friend was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? So make an attempt to grow further.... Why shouldn't we try it again?
Moral :

"YOUR ATTEMPT MAY FAIL,
BUT NEVER FAIL TO MAKE AN ATTEMPT."

Some flowers will have pleasant smell but some don’t seem to give enough fragrance and yet all the flowers are lovable for their beautiful colors. Flowers are used for different purposes. We use flowers to greet people on many occasions. We gift a flower for wedding and use a flower wreath for funeral. In earlier days, people believed each flower has its own meaning. For example lilies are often used to denote life, and when it comes to roses, they are used as a symbol of love and beauty. Woman like flowers more than men do.Flowers can be used in office rooms and living room for a pleasant atmosphere. It is found by scientists that the good fragrance of flowers in the living room can help people get good sleep with sweet dreams.Flowers are offered to god as a mark of our devotion.

Tips for Taking Your Toddler to the Library

It’s never too early to begin nurturing a child’s love of books. In addition to reading to your child, trips to the library are a fun way to introduce a little one to the wonder of books. However, before you pack up your toddler and head to the library, there are a few things to keep in mind that will make the experience much more enjoyable for both you and your child.

Talk it up.

Set the stage for a successful library visit by talking with your toddler about it ahead of time. Presenting your child with a library bag is a great way to introduce the topic. Consider using kids bag tags to personalize the bag, making it truly special. You can then talk about how the library is full of books you can borrow and take home to read. Lola at the Library by Anna McQuinn and Rosalind Beardshaw is a highly recommended book ideal for explaining how a library works.

Set the ground rules.

Good behavior is extremely important, especially in a library. To help save your sanity and avoid meltdowns, let your toddler know ahead of time what is expected of them such as talking in a soft voice and only taking one book off the shelf at a time.

Let your toddler lead.

The first visit to the library is a new and exciting experience for your child. Many libraries have children’s sections filled with colorful books and even toys. Allow your toddler to explore the library as they will and if they just want to play, that’s fine. Letting them discover the library at their own pace will help foster a love of the library.

Checkout time.

Have your child choose a book to check out and use that special library bag to carry it home in. Websites such as http://www.stuckonyou.co.uk/ are a fantastic resource for getting just the right bag. Follow these tips and that library bag is sure to see a lot of use!
